Patina Style Book Signing

Patina Style authors Steve and Brooke Giannetti at Atlanta Market
There is a lot of catching up to do after returning from one of the largest home furnishings markets in the world. First on my to do list is to tell you how exciting it was to meet the designers and bloggers who came to Atlanta to talk about trends and inspirations for 2012. Steve and Brooke Giannetti who publish the blog, Velvet & Linen, shared the spotlight about their passion for creating beautiful homes. After growing up around his father's ornamental plaster studio, Steve, an architect, developed his love of romantic interiors. Along with his wife, Brooke, an interior designer, the duo married rustic and classic styles by using a chalky palette of found objects, colors and textures to create their signature style. In 2011, they published their beautiful book Patina Style, illustrating their love of collecting. Steve and Brooke also showed us a rendering of Patina Farm, their new home they plan to build in Ojai, Ca. To see their favorite market finds, be sure to link up with their blog http://brookegiannetti.typepad.com/.

Off to market

It's confirmed. Two friends, who own businesses in interior design and lighting, and I are going to Market Week at the America's Mart in Atlanta on Saturday and Sunday this week. I can hardly wait to blog about the newest home furnishing trends and products. Today when I was looking at the week's events, I spotted some of my favorite design bloggers at two special events. Veranda magazine is sponsoring a program featuring the very talented husband and wife duo, Steve and Brooke Giannetti of Velvet and Linen. They will talk about their beautiful photography in their book, Patina Style. The Giannettis are successful using social marketing and blogging for communicating with their clients. The couple offers online design consultations and furnishings on their blog. Another exciting presentation will feature some of the best bloggers of interior design. Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic, Maxwell Gilliamham-Ryan of Apartment Therapy, and Christiane Lemieux of Dwellstudio. Their tips on getting published on a blog, and the instant increase it can bring to design businesses will be timely. Social media sites, Twitter and Facebook, combined with blogs have a lot of potential to give designers and stores a bigger market presence. Check back often here at TownandCottage.blogspot.com for what is happening at Atlanta's Marketplace.
